Events & Tickets
There are several different events during the Forsythia Festival season. Expect to see some of your family’s favorite events in 2017, like Hello Yellow, Faith Fest, the Forsythia 5K and the Tailgate Toss. The 2017 Forsythia Festival will also have some new events for you and your family to enjoy, like an 80’s night and an evening of food trucks.

An Evening with John Berry, presented by the Backlot Players
Singer-songwriter John Berry comes to Forsyth on Friday, February 3, 2017. The award-winning performer takes the stage at the new Monroe County fine Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $43, with all proceeds benefiting the Rose Theater’s 300 Roses Campaign.
Celebrate the official start to the 30th Anniversary Forsythia Festival on Saturday, February 4, 2017! Enjoy a pancake breakfast, get forsythias painted on your car and pick up pins, t-shirts and more. The fun starts at Dairy Queen at 10 a.m. Thank you Navicent Health for sponsoring this year’s event.
Navicent Health’s Family Health Fair
Bring the whole family to the Monroe Regional Medical Complex on Saturday, February 25 for a healthy, fun morning full of activites. Get health screenings, pick up health information, enjoy a free Zumba demonstration, visit the teen area and enter in the giveaways. The free, family event starts at 7:00 a.m. and lasts until Noon. Some health screenings may have a fee associated with them.
MOPS of Macon/Forsyth Children’s Consignment Fundraiser
Visit New Providence Baptist Church on March 3rd and 4th for this huge consignment sale. Brown through baby, children, junior and maternity clothes and goods. Shop Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Click here for more information.
Miss Forsythia Pageant 2017
Contestants will compete in a beauty pageaon for the multiple titles of Miss Forsythia. Ages 0-6 compete on Saturday, March 4th beginning at 10:00 a.m. Contestants between the ages of 7 and 21 compete starting at 2:00 p.m. This year’s pageant takes place in the Monroe County Board of Education Auditorium. Retro 80’s Night – Forsythia from the Beginning
We’re throwing it back to the first year of the Forsythia Festival. Put on your favorite 80’s wear and prepare to enjoy a night of fun, food and dancing. Compete in a Moonwalk competition and a costume contest. The party starts at 7:30 p.m. on March 4 at the Monroe County Conference Center. Adult tickets are $20. Click here to purchase yours today.
Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone
Grammy-nominated 60’s musicians, Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, come to Forsyth just in time for the 30th Anniversary Forsythia Festival. Known for their role in the British Invasion, this group takes the stage at the new Monroe County Fine Arts Center on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $45. Exchange Club of Forsyth Annual Golf Tournament
The Exchange Club of Forsyth invites local and non-local golfers alike to come tee off the festival weekend at the Forsyth Golf Club. This event happens Friday, March 10th. Registration is $60 per player. Call (478) 747-9833 to register or to get more information.
Used Book Sale
Browse through the selections and pick up some books to add to your collection. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, this year’s sale will be held at the Monroe County Clubhouse. You have three chances to shop, Friday and Saturday, March 10th and 11th from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 12 from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. For more information, call (478) 994-7025.
Forsythia Food Truck Frenzy
That’s right, food trucks are coming to Forsyth on Friday, March 10th! Bring the family out for delicious food truck treats and fun with inflatables. Check back soon for more information!
Boy Scouts’ Pancake Breakfast
The Boy Scouts of Troop 51 will once again host the Forsythia Pancake Breakfast. Stop by Forsyth United Methodist Church March 11th between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. for a delicious pancake breakfast. The meal costs $8 per person and proceeds benefit the Boy Scouts. Call (478) 256-0391 for more information.

View an art exhibit by local students. Stop by the City Hall Annex Saturday, March 11th between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. an dsunday, March 12 between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Sparks and Recreation Car Show
Hosted by Ground Level, this car show takes place at the Monroe County Recreation Department on March 11th between 9:00 a.m .and 4:00 p.m. Registration closes at 1 p.m. and there is a $20 entry fee.
Monroe County Horseshoe Championship
This annual event happens at Lee’s Haircutting, 76 N. Jackson St. on Saturday, March 11th. The event features two horseshoe pits. It costs $5 to enter. For more information, or to register in the tournament, call (478) 994-1666.
Arts & Crafts Fair
The pinnacle event of the Forsythia Festival is set in the streets of Downtown Forsyth. Join us March 11-12, 2017 as we welcome roughly 20,000 people, and more than 100 vendors, to Forsyth. Shop for arts and crafts, enjoy the tasty festival treats, and spend some time with your children at the Kids Corner. Hours are Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Stop by Kids Corner in Downtown Forsyth to enjoy inflatables, obstacle courses and other activities. Grab a $15 wristband to let your child really have a good time. Pony rides are also available. Hours are Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Watch as area musicians, dancers and entertainers showcase their talents for the festival crowd. Located in the heart of Downtown Forsyth, the entertainment stage is a must-see. Hours are Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Click here if you’re interested in performing. Forsythia Tailgate Toss
The Forsythia Tailgate Toss returns this year with new boards, new bags and fun prizes! Get ready for a friendly cornhole competition in the Persons Banking Company parking lot. The tournament starts Saturday, March 11th at 12:00 p.m. Prizes awarded to 1st – 3rd place teams. The winner receives $100 and entry in the American Cornhole Organization Slyder Cup Tournament! FaithFest Singing Competition
Celebrate music, faith and our community at FaithFest 2017, our faith-based singing competition. It happens Saturday, March 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 95 West morse Street.
