Events & Tickets

There are several different events during the Forsythia Festival season. Expect to see some of your family’s favorite events in 2019, like the Forsythia 5K, Hello Yellow & Food Truck Frenzy Kickoff, Faith Fest, and the Tailgate Toss. The 2019 Forsythia Festival will also have some new events for you to enjoy, like a carnival themed party!

 

Pre-Festival Events

 

 Hello, Yellow!

 

Celebrate the official start to the 32nd Anniversary Forsythia Festival on Saturday, February 23, 2019!  For 2019, Hello Yellow will feature the Forsythia 5K, and the Food Truck Frenzy for one grand kickoff.  Get forsythias painted on your car, pick up t-shirts, grab a bite to eat and more. The fun starts at 11 a.m. and open all day! Thank you, Navicent Health, for sponsoring this year’s event.  The Forsythia 5K registration will begin at FitCo Health Club, 833 Patrol Road, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 23rd.  Entry is $30 per person. Forsyth’s Greatest Night 2019

 

Need a fun night out with your favorite person? Have a night to remember with tarot card readers, caricatures, and other carnival games. Full bar available and alcohol infused ice-cream.   There will also be door prizes, costume contests, and more!  Forsyth’s Greatest Night is sponsored by Ambrose Pediatric Dentistry.  The party starts at 7:30 p.m. on March 2nd at the Monroe County Conference Center.

The Lettermen 

The Monroe County Fine Arts Center proudly presents The Lettermen on Friday, March 1st. With hits such as “When I Fall In Love”, “Goin’ Out Of My Head” and “Hurt so Bad”,  The Lettermen has been named the most romantic group of the sixties.  The trio Continues to wow fans with their astounding harmonies and lyrics of love.  Tickets to the Lettermen go on sale January 4th at Monroefinearts.org.    For more information, please contact the Monroe County Fine Arts Center at 478-994-2031.

Exchange Club of Forsyth Annual Golf Tournament

 

The Exchange Club of Forsyth invites local and non-local golfers alike to come tee off the festival weekend at the Forsyth Golf Club.  This event happens Friday, March 8th. Registration is $60 per player.  Call (478) 747-9833 to register or to get more information.

 

Used Book Sale

 

Browse through the selections and pick up some books to add to your collection.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, this year’s sale will be held at the Monroe County Clubhouse.  You have three chances to shop, Friday and Saturday, March 8th and 9th from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 10th from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  For more information, call (478) 994-7025.

 

 

Boy Scouts Pancake Breakfast

 

The Boy Scouts of Troop 51 will once again host the Forsythia Pancake Breakfast.  Stop by Forsyth United Methodist Church March 9th between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. for a delicious pancake breakfast.  The meal costs $8 per person and proceeds benefit the Boy Scouts.  Call (478) 256-0391 for more information.

  

Arts & Crafts Fair

 

The pinnacle event of the Forsythia Festival is set in the streets of Downtown Forsyth.  Join us March 9-10, 2019 as we welcome roughly 20,000 people, and more than 100 vendors, to Forsyth.  Shop for arts and crafts, enjoy the tasty festival treats, and spend some time with your children at the Kids Corner.  Hours are Saturday from 10:00 a.m.  to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

 

Kids’ Corner

 

Stop by Kids’ Corner in Downtown Forsyth to enjoy inflatables, obstacle courses and other activities. Grab a wristband to let your child really have a good time.  Pony rides are also available.  Hours are Saturday from 10:00 a.m.  to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

 

Entertainment

 

Watch as area musicians, dancers and entertainers showcase their talents for the festival crowd. Located in the heart of Downtown Forsyth, the entertainment stage is a must-see. Hours are Saturday from 10:00 a.m.  to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Forsythia Tailgate Toss

 

The Forsythia Tailgate Toss returns this year with new boards, new bags and fun prizes!  Get ready for a friendly cornhole competition in the Persons Banking Company parking lot.  The tournament starts Saturday, March 9th at 12:00 p.m. Prizes awarded to 1st – 3rd place teams.  The winner receives $100 and entry for a 5-person team in the American Cornhole Organization World Slyder Cup XII Tournament! There is a 32-team limit, with two players per team.  Registration is $25 per team.  On-site registration begins at 11:00 a.m.  Online registration is available here.  Thank you Person’s Bank for sponsoring the Tailgate Toss.

 

FaithFest Singing Competition

 

Celebrate music, faith and our community at FaithFest 2018, our faith-based singing competition.  It happens Saturday, March 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 95 West Morse Street.  Admission is free.  A goodwill offering will be accepted.  If you want to enter, Register Here .  Thank you, Tolbert & Associates, for sponsoring FaithFest again this year.

 

Community Worship Service

 

Join us for this special service, Sunday, March 10th.  It takes place at 10:00 a.m. at the Forsyth Presbyterian Church on Jackson Street in Downtown Forsyth.
