FaithFest

FaithFest is an amateur
singing competition celebrating music, faith, and our community. The
competition is part of the annual Forsythia Festival held during
the second weekend of March. This competition celebrates
faith-based music
through all styles including contemporary rock, pop, praise and
worship, black gospel, R&B, hip hop, southern gospel, country,
and more. |

Who Can
Compete? All contestants must be amateur
entertainers. Professional and semi-professional entertainers
are not permitted to enter.
FaithFest has two categories: adult and youth.
The adult
category is for contestants over 18 years of age. Parent/legal
guardian must sign application for contestants under 18 years of
age. Contestants who are 18 and are still enrolled in high
school may choose to compete in either category.
Registration
A $25 registration fee is required to
participate.
Applications are due no later than
March 6, at 5 PM, and are accepted on a first-come,
first-served basis.
Only 10 participants will be accepted in the
adult category and 5 participants will be accepted in the
youth category. You may mail the application and
payment to
FaithFest, 68 N. Lee Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.
Payment
The festival
accepts cash, checks, and credit cards. (Please note that there is a $1 credit card
processing fee that is automatically added to your credit card
payment.)
Once you submit your registration, you
will receive a link to pay online.
If you would prefer to pay with a check, please make it payable
to the Forsythia Festival and mail it to 68 North Lee St.,
Forsyth, GA 31029. Please make sure you indicate who the
payment is registering for.
Location
FaithFest will be held at First Baptist Church of
Forsyth, 95 W. Morse Street, Forsyth.
Award
Categories Adult category $500 first place $250 runner-up Youth category
$250 winner

Competition |
Songs performed must be faith-based and be appropriate for
family entertainment. The FaithFest coordinators
reserve the right to disqualify any contestant whose
performance, dress attire, or song that does not meet faith- or family-based
entertainment standards.
FaithFest will have 15 total
competitors: 10 adult competitors
and 5 youth competitors. • All contestants must have one
prepared song and must limit their singing performance to four
minutes. • Contestants must memorize the songs they will be
performing and sing to background music provided by
competitor. instruments, or a capella. • Songs are limited to four (5)
minutes and must be appropriate for faith- and family-based
entertainment. • The competition will will start at 7 PM, and the
competitors must report promptly at 6 PM. The public event is at
7 PM. Contestant order for the performance will be randomly
drawn. • The judges will score the performances. In the
event of a tie, judges will vote to select the winner of the competition. • The
same song submitted with application must be
performed in the competition. Judges will select the top two
performers from the adult category and the top performer from
the youth category. |

FaithFest Rules and Guidelines |
All participants and their families
release the Forsythia Festival from any liability resulting from
their performance and attendance at this event.
All
participants give the Forsythia Festival unrestricted
authorization to use their name, photo, voice recording, video
recording, entry materials, and/or likeness in promotional
materials without further compensation.
FaithFest coordinators
reserve the right to disqualify any contestant whose
performance, dress attire, or song does not meet faith- and/or
family-based entertainment standards.
The Forsythia Festival considers
professionals and semi-professionals anyone who has received or
currently receives payment for a performance This includes
anyone who receives income by selling a CD. If you are still
unsure, please feel free to contact us and a decision can be
made on a case-by-case basis.
